Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday unveiled what he termed the ‘H Files’, claiming to expose large-scale electoral manipulation in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference, Gandhi alleged that a systematic plan was executed to transform a clear Congress victory into a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win through what he called “vote chori” (vote theft).

According to Gandhi, data collected by his team revealed that over 25 lakh votes were fraudulent, including 5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters, and 19.26 lakh bulk voters. He questioned why the Election Commission (EC) failed to remove duplicate entries despite having the technology to detect them.

Gandhi said his team began investigating after receiving several complaints from Congress candidates across Haryana who reported inconsistencies in voting patterns. “We suspected that this was not limited to a few constituencies but was happening at both the state and national levels,” he said. Gandhi claimed the results had shocked party leaders because all internal assessments and exit polls had indicated a Congress sweep.

He also pointed to what he described as an unprecedented mismatch between postal votes and actual votes, calling it a first in Haryana’s electoral history. “When I first saw the data, I could not believe it. I asked my team to verify the numbers several times because the scale of manipulation was unbelievable,” he added.

The Congress leader asserted that a deliberate strategy was implemented to turn the tide against the party. He urged young voters to pay attention, warning that the alleged electoral malpractice had implications for the future of Indian democracy.
