Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed BJP leaders and workers at the party headquarters in Delhi during a high-energy ceremony marking Nitin Nabin’s formal takeover as the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The event turned into a show of unity and celebration as senior leaders, office-bearers, and grassroots workers gathered to welcome the new leadership.

Congratulating Nitin Nabin on assuming charge as the 12th national president of the BJP, PM Modi struck a humble and emotional note. “I congratulate Nitin Nabin for becoming the president of the world’s largest party. When it is about the party, Nitin Nabin is my boss and I am just a party worker,” Modi said, drawing thunderous applause from the audience.

The Prime Minister highlighted the BJP’s long and detailed internal election process, describing it as a rare example of internal democracy in Indian politics. He explained that the organisational elections began at the grassroots level and gradually moved upward, finally culminating in the election of the national president, all in line with the party’s constitution.

Modi said the process reflected the BJP’s deep-rooted democratic culture and discipline. “This large organisational election is proof of the BJP’s democratic belief, its discipline, and its commitment to workers,” he said, praising the dedication of lakhs of party workers who took part in the process across the country.

Emphasising the BJP’s leadership philosophy, the Prime Minister said the party draws strength from its legacy while remaining focused on public service and nation-building. He congratulated party workers nationwide for successfully completing the organisational exercise and credited them for keeping the party strong at every level.

Modi also reflected on key milestones recently observed by the party, including the birth anniversaries of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as well as the centenary celebrations of the RSS. He said these moments serve as constant inspiration and reinforce the party’s commitment to serving the nation.
