Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging a surge in crime across the state and an alarming rise in police personnel being targeted. Yadav accused the government of failing to maintain law and order, stating that criminals are being shielded by those in power.
His remarks came in response to the murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Santosh Kumar Singh, who was brutally attacked in Munger’s Nandlalpur village on Holi (March 14). The officer was reportedly attempting to resolve a dispute between two groups when he was fatally assaulted. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment in Patna.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rakesh Kumar confirmed that seven individuals have been identified in connection with the murder, with five already in police custody. Among them, an accused named Guddu Yadav sustained injuries after police opened fire in self-defense. Authorities are actively working to arrest the remaining suspects.
