A fresh political storm erupted on Thursday after Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched an explosive attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming the senior BJP leader appeared visibly shaken during his address in Parliament.
Speaking to reporters outside the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi accused Amit Shah of delivering a speech filled with “deflections, not answers.” Gandhi alleged that Shah avoided every direct question raised by the opposition on electoral reforms and Special Intensive Revision (SIR), instead resorting to what he described as “aggressive rhetoric without evidence.”
Rahul Gandhi claimed that Shah looked nervous, adding, “His hands were trembling, he used the wrong words, and it was clear he was under massive mental pressure.” Gandhi said that the Home Minister’s responses lacked substance and failed to provide clarity on allegations raised by the Congress.
Escalating the confrontation further, Gandhi reminded reporters that he had challenged Amit Shah to a point-by-point debate inside Parliament over his press conferences on election issues. “I openly invited him to discuss every claim I have made, out there in front of the country,” he said. “But I got no answer.”
