Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from April 22 to 23, 2025, at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Friday.

This will mark PM Modi’s third visit to the Kingdom, following his earlier visits in 2016 and 2019, reflecting the growing strength of India-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations. The upcoming visit holds strategic significance, especially as it comes months after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s State Visit to India in September 2023, when he participated in the G20 Summit and co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council.

During the visit, PM Modi is expected to hold wide-ranging discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focusing on strengthening ties in trade, energy, investment, and defence cooperation. Regional and global issues of mutual interest will also be discussed, particularly in light of ongoing geopolitical developments in the Middle East and South Asia.

The MEA noted, “The visit underscores the shared commitment of both countries to deepen the Strategic Partnership and elevate bilateral ties to new heights.”

Saudi Arabia is one of India’s most important partners in the Gulf region, with both nations collaborating extensively in energy security, infrastructure, healthcare, and technology. The Strategic Partnership Council, established during the 2019 visit, has since evolved into a key institutional mechanism for driving forward the bilateral agenda.
