Mamata Banerjee Slams Centre After Pahalgam Attack: 'Take Care Of Border, Not Communal Politics'

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a sharp attack on the central government in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, urging leaders to prioritize border security over communal polarization.

While speaking to a news agency during a public address in Murshidabad, Mamata Banerjee said, "Instead of doing communal violence, please take care of the border. Please take care of India. We love India, please save India from any disaster. Please give justice to the people who have lost their loved ones."

Criticizing the alleged politicization of national tragedies, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo added, "Don't play dirty politics; I am the last one to tolerate dirty politics. I have seen 10-12 Prime Ministers and worked with them."

In a veiled dig at the BJP, she remarked, "I want to tell the acting Prime Minister to take care of the border instead of taking care of communal riots. I am not talking about the Prime Minister. BJP can say who is the acting Prime Minister of the country... When you are in the chair, you cannot divide the people."

Banerjee’s comments come amid rising political temperatures following the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of several Indian citizens. Her remarks underline the growing demand from Opposition leaders for the central government to focus more on national security and less on electoral rhetoric.
