Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a sharp political attack on Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge while defending the Viksit Bharat–GRAM G Act, accusing the opposition of spreading misinformation and deliberately misleading the public. Speaking strongly on the issue, Chouhan questioned the narrative being built around the initiative and said such politics goes against democratic values.
Chouhan underlined that cooperation between farmers and labourers should not be portrayed negatively, asserting that collective effort is essential for national development. He dismissed the Congress campaign against the Act as baseless and driven by falsehoods rather than facts. According to him, the opposition’s language and approach reflected confusion and desperation, not constructive criticism.
Taking direct aim at the Congress leadership, the Union Minister criticised the use of what he claimed were AI-generated images and misleading visuals to influence public opinion. He said spreading rumours through fabricated content weakens democratic debate and raises serious questions about credibility. Chouhan argued that if the opposition genuinely enjoyed public support, it would not need to rely on such tactics.
He also questioned the terminology being used by Congress, particularly the word “Sangram,” stating that political movements should be rooted in truth and clarity, not exaggerated slogans. Emphasising Gandhian values, Chouhan said truth should be the foundation of political discourse, not distortion.
Raising doubts about the opposition’s engagement in parliamentary processes, Chouhan asked where Rahul Gandhi was during key discussions on the issue, suggesting that absence from debate followed by misinformation outside Parliament was irresponsible.
