The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recorded a clean sweep in all the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) wards where former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai actively campaigned during the election period. As vote counting progressed, results showed that BJP candidates secured victories in every ward visited by Annamalai, strengthening the party’s position in Mumbai’s civic body.
Annamalai had campaigned in key areas of Mumbai’s western suburbs, including Ward 35, Ward 47, and Ward 19. These constituencies witnessed intense political campaigning and high voter interest. Despite controversy surrounding some of Annamalai’s remarks during the campaign, the BJP’s electoral performance in these wards remained unaffected.
In Ward 47 from Malad West, BJP youth leader Tajinder Tiwana emerged victorious, marking a significant win for the party’s younger leadership. Ward 35 in Malad West was won by BJP candidate Yogesh Varma, while Dakshata Kavthankar secured a decisive victory from Ward 19 in Charkop. The wins have been projected by the BJP as a clear endorsement of its campaign strategy and leadership.
Party leaders believe these results indicate strong public support for the BJP in Mumbai, particularly in areas where high-profile leaders personally connected with voters.
