BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi has sharply criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government for its failure to present the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the Delhi Assembly. Trivedi, speaking on the matter, referred to a recent observation by the Delhi High Court, which expressed concern over the government's reluctance to table the crucial reports. The court's remark, calling the delay "unfortunate," has drawn attention to the ongoing issues in the Delhi government's functioning.

As per Trivedi, the Delhi government has not only delayed the presentation of a dozen CAG reports but has also dismissed the significance of doing so. He pointed out that the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretary, on January 11, 2025, claimed there was "no use in tabling the reports." The BJP leader further expressed disappointment over this stance, emphasizing that such actions undermine the transparency and accountability expected from a government.

Trivedi took a critical stance on the overall governance, suggesting that the AAP's approach goes beyond just development and environmental concerns, but extends into constitutional matters. He stressed that the failure to table the reports is a clear indication of the government's disregard for constitutional processes, which are essential for the proper functioning of any democracy.

In a letter to the Legislative Assembly Speaker, seven BJP MLAs raised concerns about the absence of CAG reports, urging for their immediate presentation. According to Trivedi, this delay and the lack of transparency reflect the anarchic character of the ruling party, which he claimed is permeating constitutional institutions and processes.

The issue of CAG report tabling has been a matter of contention between the AAP and opposition parties for some time. With the Delhi elections around the corner, these concerns are likely to play a significant role in the political discourse surrounding the functioning of the Delhi government.
