Ritlal had been shifted from Patna’s Beur Central Jail in May for security reasons and had surrendered in an extortion case earlier this year. Lalu was greeted warmly, with supporters showering flowers even from construction vehicles. His daughter, MP Misa Bharti, accompanied him, amplifying the impact of the campaign.
