A Bengaluru-based businessman has accused a Zepto delivery agent of physically assaulting him outside his home following a dispute over a grocery order. The alleged incident occurred on May 21 in Judges Colony, Basaveshwaranagar, and left the complainant, 30-year-old Shashank S, with a skull fracture, he claims.

According to a report by The Times of India, the confrontation began when Shashank’s sister-in-law attempted to collect a grocery order at the gate but noticed a discrepancy in the address. An argument ensued, prompting Shashank to step in.

In his police complaint, Shashank alleged that the delivery agent, identified as Vishnuvardhan, verbally abused him and then punched him multiple times on the face and head before fleeing the spot. He later sought medical attention and was reportedly diagnosed with a skull fracture. Doctors are monitoring the injury, and surgical intervention may be required if the condition does not improve within a week, he stated.

Shashank later shared CCTV footage and a detailed account of the incident on Instagram, urging the grocery delivery platform to take accountability. The video, which has since gained traction on social media, shows parts of the altercation near the residence.

In response, Zepto issued a brief statement, saying: "We deeply regret the incident. Ensuring professional conduct is a top priority, and the matter is being looked into seriously."
