The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, following the release of a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report detailing the exorbitant renovation costs of the Delhi Chief Minister?s residence. BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan accused Kejriwal of betraying the people of Delhi and squandering taxpayers' money during a time of crisis.

Renovation Cost Raises Eyebrows

The CAG report, presented by Girish Chandra Murmu, revealed that the renovation of the Delhi Chief Minister?s residence, dubbed the 'Sheesh Mahal,' amounted to a staggering Rs 33.66 crore. The expenditure has drawn sharp criticism, particularly as it occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic when citizens were grappling with economic and health crises.

Kesavan?s Statement: A Decade of Scandals

Speaking to the media, CR Kesavan did not mince words in his condemnation of Kejriwal and AAP.

?Arvind Kejriwal has muffled the truth and has now degenerated into a discredited and dishonest 'Sheesh Mahal' man. He can never cover up the frauds of the AAP. The CAG audit trail has been explosive and has exposed the AAP. The AAP government has spent Rs 33.6 crores of taxpayers' money in the 'Sheesh Mahal.' That too during COVID, when people were struggling for survival. The AAP and Kejriwal have betrayed the people of Delhi, bankrupted the Delhi government, and unleashed scams and scandals in a decade of disaster,? Kesavan said.

Political Fallout and Upcoming Elections

Kesavan expressed optimism about the BJP?s prospects in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He claimed that the people of Delhi had grown disillusioned with AAP?s governance and were eager to bring about change.

?The central schemes of the Prime Minister have not been able to reach the people of Delhi because they have been blocked by this dubious, devious AAP government. The people of Delhi have realized that the AAP has derailed, and they have decided to put a full stop to this government. We are very sure that in the coming election, the people of Delhi will sweep AAP into the dustbin of history and bless the BJP to form a government. This will ensure that Delhi takes its rightful place in our nation?s growth story as we march towards becoming a Vikshit Bharat,? Kesavan declared.
