Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi Marlena, on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Delhi government over worsening air quality, claiming that residents of the national capital have been struggling to breathe for months while the authorities are failing to act responsibly.
Highlighting the severe health impact of pollution, Atishi said that the situation has become alarming for vulnerable sections of society. “The people of Delhi have been unable to breathe properly for the past four months. Children are suffocating and the lives of the elderly are at risk. Hospitals like AIIMS are saying that life in Delhi is becoming difficult. But what is the Delhi government doing? They are manipulating the AQI monitors...” she alleged.
