Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasara has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government's handling of the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people on April 22. In a statement on Sunday, Dotasara raised crucial questions about the security lapse that allowed the attack to take place and the government's response to the tragedy. He said, "Why was there a lapse and who is responsible for this? What steps has the government taken to avert such incidents in the future?..."
Dotasara also criticized the government for its ineffective measures in addressing national security concerns. Referring to the ministers' rhetoric about controlling water, he remarked, "Every minister is making statements about stopping water. It is not a drama, stop the water then, do what you want to do... There should be an action by the government to ensure justice. We will support if this is done."
The Congress leader’s comments came amid growing outrage over the attack, which targeted innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident has sparked calls for stronger security measures and accountability from the government. Dotasara, who is also the President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, underscored that the Congress party would back any legitimate steps the government takes to ensure justice for the victims.
In addition to his comments on the terror attack, Dotasara also addressed the broader political climate, stating that the country is currently witnessing "speeches, corruption, and fascism," which is why the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has decided to hold a ‘Samvidhan Bachao’ Rally to protect the Constitution and fight against rising authoritarianism.
