In a recent interview, Bandra West MLA Zeeshan Siddique shared a chilling perspective on the murder of his father, Baba Siddique, suggesting that the attack was fueled by his father?s commitment to public service and possibly orchestrated by a powerful builder lobby. Speaking to The Lallantop, Zeeshan alleged that while police have not confirmed any specific motive, he believes there was a calculated narrative involving Lawrence Bishnoi to deflect attention, with the builder lobby potentially at the heart of the incident.

"Though there is no clear answer from police, I think that the builder lobby could be behind my father?s death," Zeeshan said. He also highlighted unresolved internal tensions within the Congress party, ultimately prompting Baba Siddique?s shift from Congress to Ajit Pawar?s NCP. Zeeshan remarked that his father felt his ?voice was not heard? in Congress, which motivated the move to join the NCP in hopes of fulfilling his community-oriented goals.

The ongoing investigation into Baba Siddique?s murder has seen significant developments. Nine individuals accused in the case were presented before Mumbai's Esplanade Court after their police custody ended on Saturday. The court extended the custody of five key suspects?Nitin Sapre, Ram Kanojiya, Sambhaji Pardhi, Chetan Pardhi, and Pradeep Thombre?until November 4. Another accused, Harish Nishad, remains under the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until October 28, while suspected shooters Gurmail Singh, Dharmaraj Kashyap, and Pravin Lonkar were sent to judicial custody.

The case took an unexpected turn with the arrest of Sujit Singh, a Mumbai resident apprehended in Ludhiana, Punjab, based on a tip-off. According to ANI, Singh had initially been detained at Ludhiana?s Jamalpur police station before being transported to Mumbai, where he is currently in the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch.

As the investigation progresses, Zeeshan?s statements about political infighting and the influence of builder lobbies shed new light on the complex and high-stakes circumstances surrounding his father?s murder. The accusations and ongoing judicial proceedings reveal the challenges facing law enforcement as they work to determine the exact motives and actors involved in Baba Siddique?s tragic death.
