Escalating the war of words following Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s “Narendra, surrender” remark, Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma launched a fierce counterattack, accusing the Congress party of inaction during its tenure and attempting to mislead the public now.
Reacting strongly to Gandhi's dig aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vijay Sharma said, “Whenever attacks happened in Jammu and Kashmir, they did not respond. Terrorists carried out bomb blasts, and there was no response. You know what happened in Mumbai at the Taj Hotel—they did not respond. Even when their own Parliament was attacked, they did nothing. They never responded.”
Sharma further accused the Congress of politicizing national security and misguiding citizens. “Now that a proper response has been given to Pakistan, they want to create confusion and spread misinformation among the people...” he said, defending the Modi government’s handling of terrorism.
