Vijay Chaumal is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected as a corporator from Ward No. 19 (Aanjana–Dumbhal) during the Surat Municipal Corporation elections held in 2021. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Slum Improvement Committee within the SMC.
Earlier, Chaumal gained public attention in 2016 when he was attacked with ink following remarks he made against Rahul Gandhi. This incident brought him into the local political limelight as a bold BJP leader unafraid to speak out on controversial issues.
