Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, Rai said, “The NDA government is developing Bihar and is also maintaining the law and order... The government takes cognisance of any misconduct by any official, takes action and serves justice.”

He further targeted the previous regime, stating, “During the Lalu-Rabri regime, criminals and corrupt people were safeguarded... They were rewarded instead of being punished... NDA takes action against corrupt...” Rai’s comments come amid a broader political discourse over governance standards and corruption in Bihar, with the NDA looking to project itself as a clean and action-oriented alternative to previous governments.
