In a move that sparked a political stir, Meta (Facebook) temporarily suspended the profile of Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav, a decision that has now been revoked. The suspension came after an allegedly abusive post was made from Yadav’s account, according to the social media giant.
Addressing the issue, Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw clarified the government’s position: "The action has been taken by Facebook. The government has no role in it. An abusive post was made from his account, because of which Facebook has taken this decision according to its own policies."
