In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a convoy belonging to Karan Bhushan Singh, son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, ran over a motorcycle in Gonda, resulting in the death of two individuals on the spot. Karan Bhushan Singh is the BJP candidate from Kaiserganj, a seat currently held by his father, who faces accusations of sexually harassing several of India's women wrestlers.

The accident occurred in the Karnailganj police station area when Karan Bhushan Singh's convoy, en route to Huzoorpur, attempted to overtake another vehicle near Chhataipurwa on the Bahraich-Huzoorpur road. In the process, the convoy's SUV collided with a motorcycle ridden by 17-year-old Rehan and 24-year-old Shehzad, who were traveling to the Karnailganj market from Nidura village. The impact was so severe that both young men died instantly.

The out-of-control vehicle subsequently struck an electricity pole and ran over 60-year-old Sita Devi, who was sitting in front of her house. She sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the local Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment.

Police, including the Circle Officer of Karnailganj and the local police station chief, quickly responded to the scene, where a crowd had gathered in the aftermath of the accident. The bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem examination, and the police have initiated further legal proceedings. The driver of the SUV has been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized. It remains unclear whether Karan Bhushan Singh was present in the convoy at the time of the accident.

The incident has sparked significant public outrage, with a crowd surrounding the local CHC in protest.

This accident bears a grim resemblance to the earlier incident in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, where BJP leader Ajay Mishra Teni's son, Ashish Mishra, was accused of running over and killing eight people with a vehicle.
