Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took sharp aim at the NDA government during a public address in Bihar, accusing it of bowing to pressure from the people, especially the minority community, on key issues like the caste census.
"The Bihar Police tried to stop me. But they could not stop me because your power is watching over me," Gandhi told the crowd, suggesting that the support of the people gave him the strength to overcome obstacles.
Taking direct aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said, "We told PM Narendra Modi that you have to conduct census... Under your pressure, PM Narendra Modi announced caste census in the country." He further added, "Scared of your pressure, he placed the Constitution on his forehead. But their government is against democracy, Constitution, and the minorities."
The Congress leader also hit out at the current administration’s alleged corporate favoritism, stating, "This is the government of Adani-Ambani and not yours."
Concluding his speech, Gandhi promised justice and fair governance if his party comes to power. "I guarantee that the moment our government forms in India and in Bihar, we will implement everything that you deserve."
