Global Market Trends

Globally, the euro fell to its lowest level in nearly a month following French President Emmanuel Macron's call for a snap election after the European Parliament elections. Markets in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia were closed on Monday due to holidays. Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasuries advanced for the third consecutive day after a strong U.S. jobs report prompted a reassessment of potential Federal Reserve interest-rate cuts. Oil prices steadied following a weekly drop as investors awaited key industry reports and the Federal Reserve's rate decision.
