In a major development following the deadly stampede at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara confirmed that the state government has accepted the findings of the Justice H.S. Cunha commission and will initiate departmental action against the parties held responsible.
“The government has accepted the Justice Cunha report. There is a court case against the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and DNA Entertainment Networks. We will conduct a departmental investigation based on the recommendation for future permissions,” Parameshwara told reporters.
He clarified that Govindaraj, the political secretary to the former Chief Minister, is not named in the report. “The former CM's political secretary, Govindaraj, is not mentioned; however, RCB, DNA, KSCA, and the police are listed,” he said.
