Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot condemned the video, saying, "We respect all mothers. Rahul Gandhi respects PM Modi's mother...It does not matter if it is about a mother from the ruling party or the opposition...This kind of discussion about a mother is not right." Gehlot’s statement underlined that personal respect must transcend political differences.
On the other hand, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad described the video as “a very shameful thing”, questioning the Congress party’s ethics. He said, "Is this the level of the Congress party? They make memes of Prime Minister Modi's late mother... I demand an answer from Rahul Gandhi for this."
