In a strong push for infrastructure and clean energy transformation in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday emphasized the Central Government's commitment to accelerating progress across the state through strategic investments and modern innovations.
“The central government is continuously giving speed to infrastructure, innovation, and investment in West Bengal. West Bengal's development is the foundation of India's progress,” PM Modi said, underscoring the state’s importance in the nation’s broader growth story.
He was speaking during the inauguration of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project, a major initiative aimed at providing piped natural gas to households, thereby phasing out the need for traditional gas cylinders.
“Through the City Gas Distribution project, people won't need to buy cylinders anymore and safe gas distribution will be provided in households,” Modi stated. “The construction of CNG stations will help in the expansion of green fuel services. This will save money, time, and the environment will also get relief,” he added.
Calling the initiative an embodiment of doorstep governance, the Prime Minister stressed how this project represents the direct implementation of Central Government policies meant to ease citizens’ lives. “This project is an example of the doorstep delivery of the Central Government's policies,” he said.
