In a major breakthrough for anti-Naxal operations, over 26 Naxals have reportedly been killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district. The gunbattle, which has continued for more than 50 hours, is one of the longest and most intense anti-Maoist operations in the region in recent years.

According to early reports, several senior Naxal leaders are believed to be among the deceased, dealing a major blow to the outlawed Maoist movement in the Bastar region. While official identification of the bodies is still underway, sources within the security establishment indicate that some high-ranking cadres were present in the area when the firefight broke out.

Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma confirmed the development, saying, “More than 26 Naxals have been neutralised in this operation. This is a significant success for our security forces. The encounter is still ongoing in some pockets, and further updates will be shared once full details are confirmed.”
