The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has officially announced that sitting MLAs Ajay Kumar from Bibhutipur and Satyendra Yadav from Manjhi will once again contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 as part of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance).
The announcement was made on Friday after a key meeting of the CPI(M) state committee, which was attended by party secretary M.A. Baby, and politburo members A. Vijay Raghavan and Ashok Dhawale.
CPI(M) state committee member Manoj Chandravanshi confirmed that the remaining candidates will be announced soon after the seat-sharing talks within the Grand Alliance are finalised.
Emphasising grassroots mobilisation, M.A. Baby urged workers to intensify door-to-door campaigns to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates. “Our focus must be on reaching every household and exposing the failures of the Nitish Kumar government,” he said.
Taking a sharp dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Baby accused the JD(U)-BJP government of making hollow promises before elections.
“Now that the government is on its way out, it is making all sorts of announcements in a desperate attempt to stay in power and deceive the people. However, the public has seen through the government’s intentions. This time, the exit of the Nitish Kumar government is certain, and the formation of a Grand Alliance government is imminent,” Baby declared.
