In preparation for the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, the central government has scheduled an all-party meeting on July 19, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Thursday.

The monsoon session is set to begin on July 21 and will continue until August 21, marking a crucial period for legislative business, with the newly formed Lok Sabha in place following the recent general elections.

Rijiju stated that the all-party meeting will serve as a platform to discuss the agenda for the session, ensure smooth functioning of both Houses, and allow leaders across the political spectrum to raise any pressing issues they want addressed during the proceedings.

“The government is committed to taking all parties into confidence to ensure that the monsoon session is productive and reflective of the people’s mandate,” said Rijiju.

The session is expected to witness debates on a wide range of national issues, including economic policy, inflation, farmer welfare, national security, and the status of pending bills from the previous Lok Sabha term. The opposition is also likely to target the government on matters such as unemployment, price rise, and recent administrative decisions.
