Mayawati Slams Samajwadi Party For Failing Dalits, Accuses SP Of Using Dalits For Political Gains

In a sharp critique of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday accused the party of lacking the will to address the poverty and exploitation faced by Dalits, reiterating her longstanding position on SP's failure to uplift the Bahujan community.

Taking to social media, Mayawati posted a series of remarks, accusing the SP of acting like other major political parties, including Congress and BJP, which she claims have failed to support the Dalits’ welfare. “Like Congress, BJP, etc., SP too has not done anything for the welfare and upliftment of the Bahujans, especially the Dalits,” she wrote.

Mayawati further stressed that the SP had no genuine sympathy or intention to resolve the issues of caste-based exploitation and injustice faced by Dalits. “SP has no sympathy or will to end their poverty, caste-based exploitation, injustice, atrocities, etc., due to which it is far away from the mainstream,” she said in her post.

The BSP chief has been consistently warning the Dalit community against the SP's purported "design" to secure their votes without any real commitment to their welfare. “The SP is engaged in every way to fulfil its narrow political interests. People must be careful,” she stated.

She also reminded people of SP’s past actions and governance, claiming they were unable to be forgiven. "SP's betrayal of BSP, murderous attack on its leadership on June 2, tearing of the bill on promotion quota of SCs and STs in Parliament, changing the names of new districts, parks, educational and medical colleges created in honour of their saints, gurus, and great men, are such blatant casteist acts which are impossible to forgive," Mayawati said, urging the public to be cautious.

In her concluding remarks, the BSP leader argued that the SP, like Congress and BJP, could never be a true advocate for Dalits or Bahujans due to its “ill intentions and policies.” She emphasized that the BSP remains dedicated to the cause of empowering the Dalit and Bahujan communities.
