In a fresh development, a man identified as Faizan, suspected of issuing a death threat to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has been detained in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Mumbai Police sources revealed that a team has been dispatched to Raipur to question Faizan, though he has not yet been formally arrested.

The investigation began after Shah Rukh Khan received a threatening call on November 5, where the caller demanded a payment of Rs 50 lakh. The call was traced to a Raipur-registered phone number under Faizan?s name, triggering a swift response from the Mumbai Police, who launched a probe into the matter.

Faizan, a practicing lawyer with the Raipur local court, presented his own account, claiming his phone had been stolen. He reported that he had filed a complaint about the theft with Raipur police but had failed to deactivate the number afterward. This oversight, Faizan explained, may have allowed an unidentified person to misuse his phone, raising questions about his direct involvement in the threat.

This incident comes shortly after Shah Rukh Khan received similar threats in October, following the major success of his films Pathaan and Jawan. Khan?s previous complaints to the Maharashtra Police about death threats led authorities to increase his security status to Y+, emphasizing the level of risk and concern associated with the actor?s safety.

As police investigations continue, authorities are working to determine whether Faizan had any involvement in the call or if his stolen phone was manipulated by someone else to make the threat.
