In a shocking development, Kartik, the son of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash, has alleged that his mother, Pallavi, was behind the brutal killing of the retired top cop. Sources told India Today TV that Pallavi, who had been battling severe mental health issues, including schizophrenia for over a decade, had expressed constant fear that her husband might harm her. She had reportedly claimed that Om Prakash had threatened her multiple times with a gun.
Following Kartik's complaint, the Bengaluru police have filed charges against Pallavi and Om Prakash's daughter, Kruti, in connection with his murder. The former DGP was found dead at his Bengaluru residence on Sunday, with multiple stab wounds inflicted on his stomach and neck. The body was discovered in a pool of blood, and police received the report around 4:30 pm.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand confirmed that the initial investigation suggests that the incident might have stemmed from internal family matters. "It seems a sharp weapon was used, causing substantial blood loss that led to the officer’s death," Dayanand said. Pallavi and Kruti were detained for questioning, and the investigation is ongoing.
