Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the Centre’s decision to declare a ceasefire with Pakistan without consulting political parties, despite having convened an all-party meeting before launching military operations.
Speaking at the Congress’ ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ in Nizampet, Hyderabad, Reddy asked, “Why was no all-party meeting called to seek the opinions of all the parties before declaring a ceasefire?”
In a fiery address, the Chief Minister likened PM Modi to “an expired rupee,” stating: “Modi is expired rupee, Modi is like a 1000 rupees' invalid note. Today, this country needs Rahul Gandhi's leadership.”
He went on to say that if Rahul Gandhi were Prime Minister, he would have taken back Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“If a leader like Rahul Gandhi would have been Prime Minister of this country, then he would have taken (former PM) Indira Gandhi as inspiration and would have walked in Kaali's (Maata) way and would have made Pakistan into two parts and would have taken PoK back.”
Drawing parallels with the leadership of former PM Indira Gandhi, Reddy said:
“Indira Gandhi's grandson Rahul Gandhi should become the Prime Minister of this country. Only if he becomes PM, he'll defeat Pakistan on one side and China on the other side and uphold our self-respect.”
According to an official statement from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Reddy reiterated that both Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had attended the all-party meeting and expressed full support to the government, urging firm action against Pakistan to merge PoK with India.
The Chief Minister also alleged that PM Modi acted under foreign pressure when he declared a ceasefire.
“I had already declared my full support for splitting Pakistan into two countries. Why did the Modi government call off the 'war' on the orders of US President Donald Trump?”
Reddy further accused the Centre of not being transparent about losses in recent military operations.
“PM Modi, who purchased war fighter jets from another country, should answer how many Rafale jets have been downed by Pakistan. You have favoured thousands of crores worth of contracts to people who are close to you and purchased Rafale jets, but why did they get destroyed? You should answer this.”
