Rescue and Relief Operations

Gujarat?s Health Minister, Rushikesh Patel, reported that over 12,000 people have been rescued and more than 5,000 have been rehabilitated. The city of Vadodara is particularly submerged, with the Vishwamitri River breaching its banks, causing widespread inundation. On Thursday, many areas of Vadodara remained underwater.

To address the crisis, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has dispatched senior ministers Rushikesh Patel and Jagdish Patel to Vadodara to oversee and coordinate relief efforts. The NDRF, State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), and Indian Army personnel have been mobilized to assist local authorities in their rescue and relief operations.

Stranded Residents and Ongoing Efforts

In Vadodara, many residents have been stranded in their homes due to the rising waters, with some taking refuge on rooftops. Rescue teams have been working around the clock to evacuate these individuals and move them to safer locations.

As Gujarat continues to face this severe flood crisis, the state's focus remains on providing immediate relief and ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
