In the wake of the INDIA bloc's significant success in Uttar Pradesh during the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra extended her congratulations to Samajwadi Party leaders, including party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and the dedicated workers for their historic performance in the state.

Using X (formerly Twitter), Priyanka Gandhi hailed Akhilesh Yadav, his spouse and Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav, and party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav for their achievement.

She remarked, "Heartfelt congratulations to you and the diligent workers of the Samajwadi Party for the UP results. Together, we fought a historic battle under challenging circumstances. Both Congress and SP workers bravely voiced the concerns of the people, advocating for social justice and the Constitution. Despite threats and repression, they united and became defenders of democracy, present at every polling booth."

Priyanka Gandhi acknowledged the public's trust in their unity and dedication to addressing key issues, crediting their hard work for the electoral success.

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party made significant gains for the INDIA bloc in UP, securing 37 seats, making it the largest party in the state. Congress, its ally, secured six seats, including reclaiming Amethi from BJP's Smriti Irani and winning Rae Bareli with a significant margin. Meanwhile, BJP, which won 62 seats in 2019, managed to retain only 33 seats this time, with its allies RLD and Apna Dal (S) securing two and one seat respectively.
