In the wake of India’s high-precision military action, Operation Sindoor, the Central government has convened an all-party meeting today to brief political leaders on the operation’s scope and strategic impact.

The meeting, scheduled for 11 a.m. at Committee Room G-074 in the Parliament Library Building, New Delhi, was announced by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday via social media platform X. “The government will brief the leaders of all political parties regarding Operation Sindoor,” he said.

While Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to chair the session, the Opposition has urged for direct participation from the Prime Minister.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh confirmed the party’s senior leadership will be present, including Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. He reiterated the party’s demand for a strong and transparent briefing by the top leadership.

“Following the Pahalgam attack, we had demanded an all-party meeting. Although the government held one on 24 April, we were disappointed by the Prime Minister’s absence. Tomorrow’s meeting follows the bold and decisive Operation Sindoor, and we expect the Prime Minister to lead the briefing,” Ramesh stated, as quoted by several news agencies.

The high-level military operation, launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, targeted multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), eliminating key figures of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The government has hailed the mission as a demonstration of India’s military precision and resolve.
