A video showing Nikhil Chaudhary, nephew of BJP MLA Manoj Chaudhary, allegedly creating chaos at a toll plaza near Bhonrasa on the Dewas–Bhopal highway has sparked controversy after going viral on social media.
Police said the incident occurred on the evening of August 6, around 6 pm, when a car bearing registration number MP 09 CV 8414 pulled up at lane number 10 of the toll booth. According to the complaint filed by the toll plaza shift in-charge, the vehicle’s occupants insisted on passing through without paying the toll fee, triggering a heated exchange with staff.
The FIR alleges that Nikhil Chaudhary stepped out of the car wielding a stick, hurled abuses at the toll workers, and issued threats. “My name is Nikhil Chaudhary, you don’t know me. Let my vehicle pass for free or I will kill all you toll people,” he allegedly said. Two other men accompanying him also exited the vehicle and reportedly joined in the altercation.
During the confrontation, Chaudhary is accused of throwing the lane stopper, further escalating tensions. Toll staff later reported the matter to local authorities, leading to formal charges.
Madhya Pradesh Police have booked Nikhil Chaudhary and his two associates under Sections 296, 351(3), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway and that statements from witnesses and staff will be recorded.
