Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday conducted a detailed inspection of the Patna Metro Rail Project, closely monitoring construction progress at key stations like Malahi Pakadi and Bhootnath Metro Station. He urged officials to speed up work and ensure timely completion of the much-anticipated urban transit system.

During the site visit, officials from the Urban Development and Housing Department briefed the Chief Minister about the infrastructure and passenger facilities being developed along the 6.20-kilometre priority corridor. This segment stretches from Malahi Pakadi to the Pataliputra Bus Terminal, covering Khemnichak, Bhootnath Road, and Zero Mile stations.

Urban Development Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, using a site map, explained plans for escalators, lifts, ticket counters, waiting areas, and pedestrian access at Malahi Pakadi Metro Station. He also noted that Rs 115.10 crore has already been allocated for the swift execution of this section.

CM Nitish Kumar reaffirmed the government's commitment to delivering the project on time. He instructed officials to eliminate delays and adhere strictly to the completion timeline, targeting full operation of the corridor by August 15, 2025.

"This metro project will modernize Patna’s urban landscape and make daily commutes easier for residents. We’re ensuring quality and speed in its construction," the Chief Minister stated during the inspection.

He was joined at the site by Urban Development Minister Jivesh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Patna Division Commissioner Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate Dr. Tyag Rajan SM, SSP Avkash Kumar, and other top officials.
