Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition and senior AAP leader Atishi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over what she described as a "fake classroom construction scam" targeting former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Speaking to the press, Atishi alleged that the summons issued to Sisodia in connection with the case were politically motivated and part of a larger BJP strategy to suppress the Aam Aadmi Party.
Atishi said, “This is yet another fake case in a long list — over 200 cases have been filed by the BJP and its agencies against AAP leaders in the past 10 years. Despite so many raids and investigations, they haven’t found even a single rupee of corrupt money.” She added that the BJP was using investigative agencies as tools to deflect attention from its administrative failures.
“The BJP cannot govern Delhi. Be it waterlogging during monsoon, rising electricity issues, or unaffordable school fees in private institutions — they have failed on every front,” she said. Atishi accused the BJP of attempting to derail Delhi’s education model, which had received international recognition during Sisodia’s tenure as education minister.
She further claimed that such "baseless probes" were not only demoralising for honest public servants but also an attack on the people of Delhi who had repeatedly voted for AAP’s development-centric model. The alleged classroom construction scam involves allegations of inflated costs and irregularities in government school infrastructure projects undertaken during Sisodia’s time in office.
