Alleged Fake Party Form Sparks Controversy Ahead Of Maharashtra Civic Elections, BJP Seeks Action

na

A fresh controversy has emerged ahead of the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections after allegations surfaced that a former BJP aspirant submitted a nomination using a forged party authorisation document. The issue was reported from a Mumbai ward, triggering political and administrative scrutiny.

Mumbai BJP president Amit Satam has lodged a formal complaint with the State Election Commission, accusing Shilpa Keluskar of attaching a fabricated AB Form to her nomination papers after failing to secure an official party ticket. Satam has demanded that her nomination be cancelled, claiming the document was improperly used despite the election authority initially accepting her papers.

According to party sources, Keluskar had earlier applied for a BJP ticket from a Mumbai ward but was eventually denied official nomination. Although an AB Form was initially issued to her, the party later withdrew it. BJP leaders now allege that a duplicate version of the same form was subsequently created and submitted along with her nomination, raising questions about the authenticity of her candidacy.

The incident comes at a time when Maharashtra’s civic election process is already witnessing confusion and internal discord. With polls scheduled for January 15 across 29 municipal corporations, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, several political alliances are reportedly struggling with seat-sharing agreements, leading to candidates from allied parties contesting against each other.
