Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the BJP government on Friday, accusing it of using bulldozers and police forces to block opposition leaders while neglecting key infrastructure promises like the Gorakhpur metro.

In a fiery statement, Yadav said, “As the Speaker just mentioned, our former Assembly Speaker and Leader of the Opposition, when they went there, a bulldozer was used to stop them. On top of the bulldozer’s bucket were BJP workers, and the entire police administration was cooperating with them... Just think, when they have their last budget left, they are building a heritage corridor. If they really wanted to do something for Gorakhpur, they should have remembered their very first announcement. They made their first announcement for Gorakhpur in Jhansi, saying that along with Jhansi, they would build a metro in Gorakhpur.
