Political Career
Monali Hirpara began her political journey with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and contested the 2021 Surat Municipal Corporation elections. She was elected as a corporator from the Amroli–Mota Varachha–Kathor (Ward No. 2). She was part of the significant breakthrough for AAP in Gujarat, where the party won 27 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation, emerging as the principal opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which held the majority.
Monali quickly became a prominent young face of the party at the local level. Though she does not currently hold any ministerial post or senior leadership position within the party, she has actively participated in key civic and political initiatives representing the voice of the people from her ward.

Her efforts demonstrate a clear intent to improve the quality of civic life for the residents of her ward.
Key Political Initiatives

She was also actively involved in AAP’s internal protests and delegations, especially during the period of political turmoil when several AAP corporators defected to other parties. She stood firmly with her party and participated in formal meetings with the municipal authorities, demanding the suspension of defected councillors and calling for fresh elections to uphold the democratic mandate.
Contributions
Monali Hirpara’s contribution to Surat's civic administration includes supervising the implementation of developmental work in her ward, attending regular council meetings, and representing the concerns of her constituents. She has consistently worked toward transparency and accountability in the execution of ward-level projects.
Through her background in law, she has also been vocal in ensuring that administrative actions follow legal processes, especially concerning political defection and citizen rights.
