Tamil Nadu political leader and celebrated actor Vijay, who also serves as the President of the Tamil Village Katchi (TVK), met Governor RN Ravi on Saturday to submit a petition addressing pressing issues in the state.

During the meeting, Vijay expressed concerns over law and order in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the urgent need for measures to ensure the safety of women across the state. "We have urged the Governor to take appropriate steps to maintain law and order and ensure that women feel safe everywhere," TVK stated in a release following the meeting.

The petition also highlighted the plight of citizens affected by recent natural calamities, including the devastating monsoon rains and Cyclone Fengal. Many affected individuals, according to the TVK, have yet to receive adequate relief. Vijay urged the Governor to push for expedited aid and called on the Union Government to fully meet the relief amount requested by the Tamil Nadu State Government.

?This is a matter of utmost importance. The affected people are in dire need, and the requested relief funds must be allocated immediately to provide them with the necessary assistance,? the petition stated.

Vijay?s move marks a significant intervention in state affairs, with observers noting his increasing political engagement through TVK. While the state government has been working on relief measures, the petition underscores a demand for greater federal support to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters.

Governor Ravi acknowledged the petition and assured that the concerns raised would be communicated to the appropriate authorities.
