Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a sharp dig at the Congress, stating that those who have zero seats may not even be able to count the zeros in ₹32 lakh crore disbursed under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. His remarks come after the Congress failed to win a single seat in the Delhi Assembly Elections, marking its third consecutive zero-seat performance in the capital.
Addressing a gathering after launching the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign in Gujarat, Modi emphasized his government’s efforts to empower small businesses and the salaried class. “We have disbursed ₹32 lakh crore in loans to the poor under the MUDRA scheme so far. Those who abuse us, those with zero seats, may not even be able to count the zeros,” he quipped.
The PM also highlighted key announcements from the Union Budget 2025-26, including the income tax exemption up to ₹12 lakh, which he said will benefit the salaried class, small business owners, and workers.
During the event, Modi also praised Gujarat’s initiative on food security and stated that the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign will serve as an inspiration for other districts to combat malnutrition and anemia. He further revealed that the public distribution system (PDS) was streamlined, leading to the removal of five crore bogus ration cards, ensuring that benefits reach the truly needy.
On the eve of International Women’s Day, Modi made a special announcement, stating that he will hand over his social media accounts to women for the day, showcasing their stories and achievements.
