Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has made a fiery statement, declaring that "no one has the guts to remove me," amid speculation that he lost the Road Construction Department for acting against a powerful construction firm. His remarks have stirred political circles, raising questions about the recent reshuffling of portfolios by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Sinha, who was recently shifted to the Agriculture Department while retaining the Mining Department, was asked whether his removal from the Road Construction Department was linked to his crackdown on SP Singla Construction Pvt. Ltd. He responded defiantly, "No one can change the order given by me."
Before stepping down from the department, Sinha took strong action against the company, debarring it from taking on new projects in Bihar after a major bridge under its construction—Agwani Ghat bridge—collapsed. Additionally, he ordered action against two engineers linked to the incident, further intensifying the controversy.
“There was a game being played in processing the file of the Agwani Ghat bridge. The file went missing for several days. Even CM Nitish Kumar had ordered action in this matter. Until SP Singla Construction Pvt. Ltd. completes the Agwani Ghat bridge, they will not receive any new tenders,” Sinha stated.
The construction company, which has been handling major projects in Bihar for years, now faces serious consequences. With Sinha’s explosive claims and the opposition raising concerns over the reshuffling of portfolios, political tensions in Bihar are running high. Was this a move to silence a leader taking on corruption, or just a routine departmental change? The controversy is far from over.
