Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar once again drew attention for his quirky style during an appointment letter distribution ceremony at the Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute in Patna on Monday. The event, which was meant to celebrate the distribution of government job appointment letters, turned into an unexpectedly light-hearted affair when Kumar placed a potted plant on the head of a senior bureaucrat.
As per protocol, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Education Department, S. Siddharth, presented a sapling to the Chief Minister as a gesture of welcome. In a move that left the audience stunned and later amused, Nitish Kumar calmly placed the plant atop Siddharth’s head. For a moment, silence filled the hall, followed by laughter and applause as people realised the Chief Minister wasn’t joking.
The incident, captured by many attendees, soon went viral and became the talking point of the day in both political and social circles. Siddharth, though momentarily surprised, managed to smile through the impromptu stunt, while Kumar remained unfazed and proceeded with the event.
Known for his unpredictable gestures, Nitish Kumar has often caught the public eye for such spontaneous behaviour. Over the years, his unconventional moments have made headlines—ranging from abrupt comments during official addresses to quirky public interactions.
