Sounding the poll bugle for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has called upon her cadre to gear up for an intense grassroots campaign while warning them against “false propaganda” and misinformation spread by rival parties.

Addressing a state-level review meeting at the BSP headquarters in Lucknow, Mayawati hailed the October 9 rally marking the death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram as a “historic success,” asserting that the overwhelming turnout proved the Bahujan community’s enduring faith in the BSP’s ideology and leadership.

“The massive participation at the rally shows that the Bahujan Samaj still stands firmly with our movement and mission,” she declared, congratulating leaders and workers for their commitment and discipline.

Reiterating the BSP’s independence from capitalist influence, Mayawati said, “Our party is not dependent on industrialists or corporate houses. The BSP is a people’s movement — committed to the upliftment of Dalits, backward classes, tribals, Muslims, and other marginalized communities. Our politics is based on honesty, service, and transparency — as clean as an open book.”

Taking aim at the Samajwadi Party (SP), she accused it of “casteist politics” and alleged that institutions named after icons of the Bahujan movement were being renamed “out of political malice.” She also charged the SP government with halting welfare schemes meant for marginalized sections, calling it “a betrayal of social justice.”

Mayawati said the BSP will continue to pursue politics grounded in equality and fairness. “Unlike other parties, we don’t indulge in coercion, bribery, or discrimination. Our fight is for justice, not power,” she asserted.

Under the newly unveiled “Bahujan Mission 2027,” the BSP plans village-to-village outreach campaigns across Uttar Pradesh. Senior leaders have been assigned to hold regional public meetings, strengthen booth-level organization, and amplify the party’s message of social justice and law and order.

Urging workers to take the mission seriously, Mayawati said, “Every BSP worker must reach the grassroots, spread the truth, and expose the opposition’s misinformation campaign.”
