In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a viral video has ignited a storm over VIP arrogance after a traffic constable confronted the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) for allegedly blocking traffic and misusing political privilege.
The clash unfolded on Monday afternoon near a busy crossroads in the Sasni police station area, when a Mahindra Scorpio (UP-81 B2324) — flaunting a BJP flag and “Vidhayak” (MLA) written on it — was parked on the roadside, choking traffic. Traffic constable SP Singh approached the vehicle and instructed its occupant to move.

In UP's Hathras, argument ensued between a traffic cop and a person sitting in car, with BJP flag and "Vidhayak" on the windshield over car parked on a busy road. At one point… pic.twitter.com/wKgo3ec5Ao
The young man, identified as Chaudhary Tapesh, son of BJP MLC Rishipal Singh from Aligarh, allegedly shot back, “Move aside, get out of here,” prompting a sharp public rebuke from the officer.
In the now-viral footage, SP Singh can be heard scolding him:
"You are causing a traffic jam, and on top of that, you're being rude. You're bringing shame to your father's name. I am twice as educated as you. I know how to speak properly."
The officer doesn’t stop there. Staring directly at Tapesh, he says, "I am more educated than you. You are misusing government power."
The vehicle, clearly showing BJP insignia, has added fuel to the outrage, with many calling it a textbook example of VIP entitlement.
Hathras ASP Ashok Kumar Singh confirmed the incident is under investigation and assured that “action will be taken based on facts, not status.”
