A fresh political slugfest erupted after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi appealed to India’s Gen Z to take the lead in protecting the Constitution and fighting alleged “vote theft.” His remarks triggered a fiery response from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who shot back that the country’s youth stand firmly against dynastic politics and corruption.

Rahul Gandhi, who recently leveled allegations of voter manipulation in Karnataka and Maharashtra through a centralised software system, said in a post on X: “The country's youth, the country's students, the country's Gen Z will save the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I will always stand with them.”

The Congress leader’s appeal to young voters came just hours after his explosive press briefing where he accused authorities of illegal deletions and additions in electoral rolls. The Election Commission, however, dismissed the allegations as “baseless.”

The timing of Gandhi’s message drew additional attention since just days earlier, Nepal had witnessed violent Gen Z-led protests against corruption and authoritarianism, which led to the toppling of the KP Sharma Oli government. Drawing a parallel, BJP leaders alleged that Gandhi was attempting to spark a similar situation in India.

Nishikant Dubey, a strong critic of Gandhi, launched a scathing attack, tweeting: “Gen Z is against dynastic politics. Why would they tolerate Rahul after Nehru, Indira, Rajiv and Sonia? They are against corruption – why won't they drive you out?”

In a further warning, Dubey added: “They want an Islamic state in Bangladesh and a Hindu state in Nepal. Why won't they make India a Hindu nation? Start preparing to leave the country – they are coming.”
